Guidance for finals week and winter break dining

Posted: November 4, 2020

As the semester quickly comes to a close within the next two weeks, we would like to share important updates regarding access to on-campus dining and meal options for finals week and over the extended winter break.

Finals Week Dining (Nov. 18-24)

To best serve our students who will need to remain on campus over finals week, meal plans are being extended through this timeframe. Meal plans will be accepted at the following on-campus dining locations during finals week:

These locations will operate under standard hours through Nov. 19. Hours of service will be adjusted to the following for Nov. 20-25:

All dining facilities on campus will be closed Nov. 26-29. Doc’s Landing will reopen on Nov. 30.

Winter Break Dining & Meal Deal Cards

Metz Culinary Management is offering new Meal Deal Cards for those who will need to remain on campus for all or parts of winter break. These cards will offer students 10 meals for $85.

Doc’s Landing will be the only on-campus location open for dining over break and will accept Meal Deal Cards and GU Gold during this time. The full Doc’s Landing menu, as well as frozen entrees and a hot entrée of the day will be made available for students to purchase using their Meal Deal Cards.

Doc’s Landing will be open Monday-Friday from Nov. 30 to Jan. 22. It will be closed on weekends and between Dec. 19 through Jan. 3. Hours of operation will be posted on a weekly basis based on the volume of students who will be residing on campus over break.

Meal Deal Cards will be available for purchase beginning Nov. 9 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday. Cards can be purchased at the Metz Dining Office located outside the main entrance to the Beyer Hall Cafeteria. Students may purchase as many cards as needed for their stay.

Cards cannot be used after Jan. 22 and any remaining punches will be forfeited after this date.

As you plan your Meal Deal Card purchase, please keep in mind that traditional meal plans will resume for the spring semester for dinner on Sunday, Jan. 24.

Please continue to monitor your email and update.gannon.edu for further updates regarding on-campus dining and changes to hours and operations of other campus resources.
