KEY DATES FOR MOVE-IN

If you are unable to arrive on your designated date above, please contact reslife@gannon.edu and a member of the Office of Residence Life will be happy to work with you.

FULLY VACCINATED OR WITHIN 90 DAYS OF RECEIVING A POSITIVE COVID-19 DIAGNOSIS?

*Fully vaccinated is two weeks after your final dose of your vaccine regardless of the particular type of vaccine received. To be recognized as fully vaccinated and follow the campus guidelines outlined for individuals who fall into that category, please go to update.gannon.edu/vaccinecard to report your vaccination status.

For those who are still within their 90-day window of receiving a positive COVID-19 diagnosis, this must be reported to the Health Center in order to follow guidelines for fully vaccinated or 90-day prior positive individuals. To report being in the 90-day window from a COVID+ diagnosis, please email your test results to hlthcoun@gannon.edu with the email subject titled “90-day prior positive.”
We also recommend bringing a copy with you upon arrival to ensure a seamless on-boarding experience.

PLANNING TO GET VACCINATED PRIOR TO MOVE IN, BUT NOT THERE YET?

Email reslife@gannon.edu and hlthcoun@gannon.edu to let us know you are taking steps toward becoming *fully vaccinated prior to move in on August 19 or 22.

HOW TO IDENTIFY YOUR MOVE-IN TIME

Aug. 18 | First-year residents who are unvaccinated or not *fully vaccinated

You will select a move-in time based on what works for your personal travel schedule and any help you are bringing with you. For COVID mitigation purposes, we strongly encourage roommates to coordinate and choose different times if possible to avoid crowding in rooms while you unpack. Please limit guests/move-in help to two additional group members. After confirming the best time for your move in, choose one of the following timeframes: 8-9:30 / 9:30-11:30.

Please use this link to select your time:

For COVID mitigation purposes, we strongly encourage roommates to coordinate and choose different times if possible to avoid crowding in rooms while you unpack. Please limit guests/move in help to two additional group members.

For residents who will be tested as part of move-in, you will have two options: 1) Test on campus; or 2) Test three days prior to arrival (see PROVIDING COVID-19 PCR TEST RESULTS PRIOR TO MOVE-IN instructions below). If choosing to test on campus on Aug. 18 or 21, you will complete your test at the University Services Building testing center on the corner of Fourth and Peach streets (by North Hall and Recreation and Wellness Center) prior to moving into your room. Students will complete a *limited quarantine in their residence until test results are received, which is typically within 24 hours. As an alternative option, these residents may also follow instructions under the section below “Providing COVID-19 PCR Test Results Prior to Move-In.”

*Limited quarantine means you are limited to only attending educational and university obligations and picking up to-go meals until you receive negative test results. Residents will be provided food immediately after their test to limit their exposure outside their room. Masks will be strongly encouraged while in your room if you are not alone and out of your room while attending university obligations.

PROVIDING COVID-19 PCR TEST RESULTS PRIOR TO MOVE-IN

We are happy to accommodate residents who prefer to complete their test at home prior to move-in. Students who are unvaccinated or not fully vaccinated and wish to complete their test at home prior to arrival on campus, or who are unable to arrive on the designated move-in day listed above, will have the option to complete a COVID-19 PCR test *within three days prior to arrival to campus in place of the Gannon administered test. Rapid tests will not be accepted. PCR test results should be submitted to the portal link below prior to arrival on campus. We also recommend bringing a copy with you upon arrival to ensure a seamless on-boarding experience.

To upload your negative PCR test results, please use the link below:

Negative 3-day PCR Test

*Within three days prior to arrival to campus provides flexibility in the day/time you are tested and plan to arrive on campus. For example, if you plan to arrive at 1 p.m. on Thursday, you could submit a negative test that was taken any time on the prior Monday or after.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR OFF-CAMPUS STUDENTS AND COMMUTERS

Testing prior to arrival or at the time or returning to campus is encouraged but not required. Surveillance testing for those who are unvaccinated or not *fully vaccinated will begin the week of Aug. 30 regardless of their residency. Please pay close attention to your Gannon email account for further information and instructions.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR GLOBAL STUDENTS

KEY DATES FOR ARRIVAL:

*Fully vaccinated by United States standards is two weeks after your final dose of your vaccine regardless of the particular type of vaccine received. To be recognized as fully vaccinated at Gannon, you will need to have received a vaccine approved by the World Health Organization and report your vaccination status at update.gannon.edu/vaccinecard.

REPORT WHEN YOU ARE ARRIVING:

We are looking forward to greeting you when you arrive to the United States and to Gannon’s campus. To help us in planning for your arrival, all global students are required to report their anticipated arrival date using the following form: https://www.gannon.edu/ConfirmAttendance

Please submit this information as soon as you book your flight and before you travel to the United States.

AFTER YOU ARRIVE IN THE U.S.:

Unvaccinated global students will need to quarantine for seven days upon their arrival to the United States as well as be tested for COVID-19. If you have signed up for on-campus housing for the year, you will quarantine in your campus space. If you will be living off campus, you must quarantine on your own.

Fully vaccinated global students will not need to quarantine upon their arrival to the United States. You will need to complete a COVID-19 test after arriving. You will be scheduled for a COVID-19 test upon arrival (or the next morning), and the time and location for this test will be sent to you in email.

Please do not come on to campus if you are unvaccinated and are still in your seven day quarantine time.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR STUDENT ATHLETES

MOVE-IN AND UNVACCINATED TESTING FOR STUDENT-ATHLETES

Please note that all student-athletes must test on campus, regardless of whether a COVID-19 PCR test is provided within three days prior to campus arrival.
