A guide to Gannon's winter break hours and operations schedule

To assist students and employees with preparing for the winter-mester and extended winter break, we have gathered the revised hours and operations for various campus services and resources that will go into effect throughout this timeframe. Please continue to monitor your email and update.gannon.edu throughout the break for any changes and for any additional information that may be shared.

 

Campus Mission & Ministry
Campus Mission & Ministry Office will be open during the following days and hours:
Nov. 25                     9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Nov. 30-Dec. 4         9 a.m. – noon | 1 – 4:30 p.m.
Dec. 7-18                  9 a.m. – 2 p.m. | Call 871-7434 between 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Dec. 19-Jan.3           Closed for Christmas Holiday
Jan 4-8                      9 a.m. – 2 p.m. | Call 871-7434 between 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Jan. 11-22                 9 a.m. – noon | 1 – 4:30 p.m.
January 25                Normal operating hours will resume Mon.-Fri. 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Gannon Campus Ministry

Fresh Café
Fresh Café will be closed beginning at 7 p.m. on Nov. 20. It will re-open at 11 a.m. on Jan. 25.

Gannon Bookstore & Rental Returns
Rental Returns & Shipping:  
All rental books should be returned by Nov. 25.
To reduce return lines in the Bookstore, rental books can be returned through a contactless return process or they can be shipped to the Bookstore.
For contactless drop-off return, complete and print the return slip for your books. Attach the slip to your books and drop them off in the designated location at the Gannon Bookstore.
Books can be returned via mail to the bookstore at 117 W. Eighth St., Erie PA 16541 using Fedex, UPS, USPS or other mailing methods available.
For any students who cannot meet the rental return of Nov. 25, please call the Bookstore at (814) 871-7421 to make alternative arrangements to avoid being charged late fees.

Bookstore Hours of Operation:
Mon. – Fri.       8 a.m. – 3 p.m.
The Bookstore will be closed for university holidays.

 

Gannon Press & Mailroom
The Press and Mailroom will be open the following hours for package pickups, mailing services and print orders beginning Nov. 30:
Mon. – Fri.     8 a.m. - noon & 1 p.m. - 3 p.m.

Starting immediately, all 20# white paper orders will be limited to one case per department. To setup a department mailbox that will be accessible during hours of operations for Palumbo Academic Center, please contact Darlene Hess (hess009@gannon.edu) to make arrangements. For any additional questions or to make arrangements for large shipments, please email Matt Blumer at Blumer002@gannon.edu.

Health & Counseling
Beginning Nov. 30, Health & Counseling will be open as outlined below. Due to COVID-19 and for the well-being of all patients and employees, walk-ins are not accepted during this time. Please call 814-871-7622 or email hlthcoun@gannon.edu for physical health concerns and couseling@gannon.edu for mental health concerns.

If you are living on-campus and are in need of non-urgent medical care during this time, please contact Police and Safety at 814-871-7690. The Gannon nurse on-call will then reach out to assist you further. All others should please contact your local primary care provider, hospital or urgent care for immediate assistance.

ITS Help Desk
The ITS Help Desk will be available for virtual walk-in support via Zoom, as well as phone support during the hours below.

Knight Club
The Knight Club will be closed beginning at 11 p.m. on Nov. 16 and will re-open in the spring semester.

Knight Watch Van
Students may request transportation services from the Knight Watch van through Nov. 22. This service will not be available after this date and will resume in the spring semester.

Metz Dining
To best serve our students who will need to remain on campus over finals week, meal plans are being extended through this timeframe. Meal plans will be accepted at the following on-campus dining locations during finals week:

These locations will operate under standard hours through Nov. 19. Hours of service will be adjusted to the following for Nov. 20-25: 

All dining facilities on campus will be closed Nov. 26-29. Doc’s Landing will reopen on Nov. 30.

Doc’s Landing will be the only on-campus location open for dining over break and will accept Meal Deal Cards and GU Gold during this time. It will be open Monday-Friday from Nov. 30 to Jan. 22. It will be closed on weekends and between Dec. 19 through Jan. 3. Hours of operation will be posted on a weekly basis based on the volume of students who will be residing on campus over break.

Spring semester meal plans will resume for dinner on Sunday, Jan. 24.

 

Nash Library & Student Learning Commons
Hours for the Nash Library & Student Learning Commons for Nov. 30 through Jan. 24 are as follows:
Mon. – Fri.     9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

The building will be closed from Dec. 19 through Jan. 3 for the holiday break.

Tutoring from the STEM Center and Writing & Research Center will be available virtually. Click here to check availability and book an appointment.

Students and faculty can click here and select “Get Research Help” on the library homepage to book a research consultation with a reference librarian.

Please use the Sixth Street entrance to access the library. The Seventh Street entrance will be closed. All current COVID-19 protocols (ID and temperature checks, mask requirements, visitor restrictions, etc.) will remain in force throughout break.

Palumbo Academic Center
The Palumbo Academic Center will be open for access to printers, study spaces, and the Press and Mailroom during the following hours, except for University holidays:
Nov. 16-20   
Mon. – Fri.     7 a.m. – 10 p.m.

Nov. 23-Jan. 24 (The building will be closed for University holidays.)
Mon. – Fri.     7 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Recreation & Wellness Center

Due to recent Pennsylvania restriction guidelines, the Recreation and Wellness Center is closed through Monday, Jan. 4. After this date, it will resume normal winter break hours through Jan. 24 unless further state restrictions are implemented.

The hours for the Recreation & Wellness Center for Jan. 5 through Jan. 24 are as follows:

Mon. – Fri.     8 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Sat. – Sun.    9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Hours of operation and closed dates are subject to change. Any updates will be communicated through social media and posted on Instagram @gannon.rwc.

Store U-Knighted Pantry
The Store U-Knighted Pantry will be open for any and all students. To access the Pantry, please email abatta001@gannon.edu to setup an appointment.

The Pantry will be closed Nov. 25-26 and Dec. 25-26 for the holidays. However, if you need emergency access these dates, please call (814) 392-4655.

Student Success Center
The Student Success Center will offer in-person as well as virtual assistance throughout the break. Appointments are encouraged and walk-ins are welcome during the days and times outlined below. To schedule an appointment, please email:

The Student Success Center will be closed on weekends and for University holidays during this time (Nov. 26-27 and Dec. 21-Jan. 1). It will resume normal hours beginning Jan. 19, including in-person appointments Monday through Friday beginning this day.

Waldron Campus Center
The Waldron Campus Center will be open for students to access printers, dining and study spaces over the extended break as scheduled below. All current COVID-19 protocols will remain in force throughout break.
